Spacious designer apartment in an exclusive district

Located in the neighbourhood of Sant Gervasi – Galvany, the building is a reflection of this upper-class district. Today, it has conserved its original character, now completed by a lively nightlife and great variety of restaurants.

An exclusive building with only few owners was built in the 1930s, replacing the famous casa Llorach. Designed by Rubió i Tudurí, one of the most renowned Barcelona’s architects, it distinguishes with its rationalist style.

Forming part of old Isabel Llorach’s residence, the apartment is located on the 4thfloor, sharing it only with one property more. A small lobby leads from the elevator to both apartments. Vast, long corridor forms the entrance area of this property and is decorated with faux windows that give the apartment modern, loft vibe. Being a multifunctional space, the use of the corridor is up to you. Following it, you reach the main point of this property: a spacious and bright living and dining area with an open-plan kitchen. A fabulous use of glass in form of large windows let the natural light flood in. Occupying almost 50m2, this space is the real heart of this property.

Accessible from the living room, there is a night zone on the right. Formed by two spacious suites, both with complete bathrooms and fitted wardrobes, it is decorated with high-quality materials. Opening up to the back of the building, the apartment is quiet and calm, even though located in a lively neighbourhood, while large windows are a guarantee of a natural light flooding in.

Vast spaces, natural light and use of bright colours are contrasted by black accents of furniture and equipment. A lavish design and materials such as marble or wood are giving the apartment elegant, but cosy vibe.

Entirely rehabilitated, the property maintained its original, aristocratic character, but nowadays is adapted to modern necessities – it has been provided with central gas heating and air conditioning, as well as high-end equipment.

This intimate building has a great story. It was built in 1930s in the place of famous Llorach house, which was constructed in the beginning of 20thcentury according to Puig i Cadafalch’s project. The old house was demolished by Isabel Llorach, the heiress of Llorach’s fortune, known for her great influence on cultural and social life of Barcelona. It was her who ordered building of what we can see now – a rationalist-style house designed by Rubió i Tudurí, an architect responsible for projects of many Barcelona’s gardens and buildings, including the Montjuic gardens prepared for the World Exhibition in 1929.  The simple rationalist style was a contrast to the luxurious and lavish houses of Sant Gervasi. It is also worth-mentioning that the only element left of the old Llorach house – the four modernist columns made of porphyry marble – are now located in the new building’s foyer.

This is an incredible opportunity to acquire a part of Barcelona’s history in form of designer’s apartment in exclusive neighbourhood.
