Modernist high and sunny apartment

This beautiful apartment is in a Noucentiste building which dates back to 1.897.

The apartment is located on the fourth floor of a chamfer’s modernist building. South Oriented to the Street with sun on the afternoon and evening.

It has a total surface area of 74 m2.

The apartment has been totally refurbished, and the reform has combined many of the exquisite original modernist elements characteristic of the time, such as its beautiful mosaic floors, its stained glass windows etc., with new materials and installations using high quality materials and well-known brands, such as Bosch, Grohe, and Fujitsu.

It consists of a big space with dining room and kitchen, one suits and a second bedroom.

Chamfer’s third floor apartment

The building was built in 1897. The access to the ground floor is through  the street but the plot occupies part of the chamfer.

The chamfers are one of the characteristic elements of the plan Cerdà that orders urbanistically the Eixample. Ildefons Cerdà designed the corners in order to separate the crossing from the road traffic (it should be noted that at the end of the SXIX and early SXX the traffic was also of animal traction) of the crossing point of pedestrians, improving safety and releasing a space in the corners. On the other hand, the orientation of the urban plot is established in such a way that the South coincides with the diagonal of the apples, thus managing to reduce the facade oriented strictly to the North. In the same way, in each block, only one chamfer faces south.

In this case, the apartment’s façade on the chamfer faces south, with the optimal orientation in light and sunny. On the other hand, the street is wider than the common streets of the Eixample. The streets are 20 meters wide and the street is 30 meters. This is because the railway originally passed through it (at this moment the passage is underground).

For all this, by the orientation and the space, it is a privileged facade.

It is also unusual that the building has the original height, ground floor; main floor and four floors floor without any other floor on top of it build afterwards.

The distribution of the floor concentrates the day zone next to the main facade organizing in an open space the kitchen, the dining room and the living room in the most diaphanous way possible trying to make the whole area participate in the light and the views.

The night area is located in the back part, facing to the inner courtyard. The apartment has a master bedroom with bathroom and dressing area and a second bedroom. There is a second bathroom on the living area. The partitions are designed with a glass on the top of them trying to get the light to reach all spaces.
