This regal apartment is located in a building traditional for this part of Barcelona, Eixample. Built in 1910, it was a family building in which the business – coffee roaster – was located on the ground floor while the owners were living on the upper levels. Due to building's inconsiderable width of 7 meters, it boasts an apartment per floor. The building consists of 6 floors (ground floor and 5 apartments). The building, due to its age, state of preservation and location, has been catalogued in the ´Patrimonio Arquitectónico del Ayuntamiento de Barcelona´,  the special conservation sector of the Ensanche (as a level B) and also as a level C in the ´Conjunto Especial del Ensanche´, and all of this will further secure its preservation and heritage.

The building’s façade with a Noucentiste style has a simply organized design, with continuity in it impressive vertical lines. All the openings are balconies which have been vertically aligned, with a larger balcony surface area on the lower floors, gradually getting smaller as you go up the building. All of these balconies feature their original forged iron railings with beautiful decorative corbels surrounding them. The back façade facing South-West has a direct sun illumination since noon and is composed by old galleries that have been closed over the years.

The organization of the building is determined by supporting walls, which leave each flat with a width of around 7 meters and a length which succeeds 20. This means they have been designed with the main rooms at each end, where the openings are. In terms of its actual construction characteristics, the load bearing walls are all solid brick with the ceilings being supported by wooden beams – this gives the apartments their traditional Catalan vaulted ceilings. These beams have been well preserved and re-treated with a colourless protective varnish, and the other rooms are provided with brand-new plasterboard ceilings. The space has also maintained many of its beautiful mosaic floor tiles.

The reform was undertaken with the intention of keeping the basic interior layout of the apartment the same, leaving the bedrooms nearer to the building's main façade to provide them with morning sun and a large living area and kitchen located in the interior so they can benefit the afternoon light coming from peaceful interior courtyard. The number of bathrooms has been increased to three, leaving two ensuite and one main for the living area. The gallery space has also been opened up, leaving a second balcony for the day time area.
